Rag & Bone – trust in craftsmanship

WOMEN’S FASHION / EROTTAJA – Rag & Bone is like American Acne. The British-born designers of Rag & Bone – Marcus Wainwright and David Neville – started their fashion career in Kentucky by learning how to make perfect jeans. They surrounded themselves with skilled craftsmen who had been making patterns, cutting fabric and sewing their whole lives. With no formal fashion training they launched their first collection in 2002. Nowadays Rag & Bone produces classic yet modern wear for men and women.

And what’s the story behind the brand’s name? A century-old British fixture, the rag and bone man was known for practicing the first form of recycling. The rag and bone man traveled by horse and cart circling the neighborhood in search of scrap metal, old furniture, wood or anything else that he could sell or re-use to support himself. As an homage to their pioneering ingenuity and conservation, Rag & Bone derived their name from this legendary practice.
